Authentic Moroccan Black Soap with Argan
Authentic Moroccan Black Soap with Argan
The first step of the hammam, and our most-loved product.
Made from olive pomace and potash into a soft, dark, gel-like paste, enriched with argan oil. Not a bar and not a body wash — you scoop it.
The soap softens the surface of the skin. The kessa mitt lifts what's ready to come away. Neither works properly without the other, which is why they've been used together for centuries.
Honestly: it barely lathers, and it has a smoky, olive-ish smell that isn't perfumed because it isn't meant to be. Some people love it immediately. Some take a week. Almost nobody goes back afterwards.

Hammam Ritual:
In a warm shower or bath, apply a small amount of black soap to damp skin. The gel-like texture creates minimal foam. Massage gently in circular motions and leave on for 5–10 minutes to soften the skin. Rinse thoroughly, then exfoliate with a Kessa glove to remove dead skin and impurities.
Body Cleanser:
Use instead of your regular body wash for smoother, silkier skin. Apply with a loofah or exfoliating glove for even coverage. Minimal foam is normal, as the soap cleanses deeply without lathering.
Shaving:
Exfoliate first to help prevent ingrown hairs. Apply a small amount of soap and gently lather until creamy. Shave as usual—the soap moisturizes and provides glide.

FAQs
FAQs
Why doesn't it lather?
Black soap isn't designed to foam. It works by softening the skin so the kessa mitt can do its job. Lather isn't cleaning.
What's the smell?
Smoky and olive-like, from the olive pomace. There's no added fragrance. Most people come to like it within a week.
Do I need the kessa mitt?
Yes, really. The soap and the mitt are two halves of one ritual.
How often?
Once a week is traditional and plenty.

I purchased the moroccan black soap and the exfoliating glove. Both work amazingly together to remove dead skin buildup when shaving, especially the glove where I could physically see the dead skin. Overall amazing products which will last me a long time.
The black soap is lovely, I had never used it before and I absolutely love it. Paired with the Kessa glove it’s the perfect combination to add to the weekly ritual! I will be purchasing this product again. Products came quickly which was another bonus!
After using few weeks I’m giving this review. It’s the star product. It made my skin so soft and moisturised. Gentle exfoliation with stripping the skin. and I like the smoky scent comes from it. Overall this is my favourite. My family also loved it very much. 10 out of 10.
I love this soap.
My skin feels like silk every time I use it. I never skip this before scrubbing!
